[.] [..] E100BODI.INS E100bodi.com drivers.dos
e100b.dos e100beds.nif ipxodi.com lsl.com net.cfg
netx.exe protocol.ini

Supplied by the Driver Disc.

I have a D865PERL Mobo with 100Mbps built-in lan card.
With the files shown above, I wonder how to setup a network for DOS +
Windows 3.11 environment?
Thanks

I assume you have Windows 3.11 and not WfW3.11, and you just want TCP/IP.

run the Network setup, choose something like add network driver, Have
Disk.

Sorry, it's been a long time!

either that or amend the protocol.ini and system.ini;
here's mine for VPC:

PROTOCOL.INI
============

[protman]
drivername=PROTMAN$
PRIORITY=MS$NDISHLP

[MS$NDISHLP]
driverName=NDISHLP$
bindings=NIC

[tcpip]
DriverName=TCPIP$
NBSessions=6
LANABASE=0
IPAddress0=192 168 2 200
SubNetMask0=255 255 255 0
DisableDHCP=1
bindings=NIC

[NIC]
DRIVERNAME=DC21X4$
ConnectionType=AutoSense

SYSTEM.INI
==========

[network]
filesharing=no
printsharing=no
autologon=no
reconnect=no
dospophotkey=N
lslogon=yes
passwordcaching=no
timesync=no
preferredredir=full
autostart=full
username=ME
lanroot=C:\NET
logondomain=WORKGROUP
workgroup=WORKGROUP
computername=VPC

[network drivers]
transport=tcpdrv.dos,nemm.dos
LoadRMDrivers=yes
devdir=C:\NET
netcard=DC21X4.DOS

You'll need to change the card name from DC21X4 to E100B
and set appropriate IP and computername
(and copy the E100b.dos file to c:\net)

I tried to use the path which contained the files i mentioned in the first
post. It said
"There are no network adapters listed in this OEMSETUP.INF file. Contact
your network-adapter vendor for a new file"
I basically pointed to a folder on my driver disc which labelled LAN.
I also tried other folders but no good... Actually I've downloaded
TCP32B.exe and
I chose Microsoft Windows Network (version 3.11) for the first option in
network setup

Thanks for your valuable time

(ignore the Novell instructions)

Yes, it does. But when i reboot wfw3.11, the network wasn't started (as it
said)
There could be some setup problems I am not aware of. Do I have to input my
fixed IP each time I get into DOSBOX=>Windows 3.11, because I am using
diverted TCP/IP (i call it) from XP, Also I wonder
if I run other telnet applications from DOSBox, say clarkson telnet, Do I
need to seperately setup DOS drivers as for wfw311?
Thanks

Sorry, no it's the setup of the network, but it seems to be beyond my
furtling ability to do this at a distance.

You might be better off asking in their dedicated forum

Seems like DOSBox still doesn't support TCP/IP.... :) Anyway I will be
looking forward to see newer versions of DOSBox to include those features...
Thanks a lot Mike

Ah, maybe that's why it doesn't work!
I use MS VPC 2005 (free for personal use)
and can run a Windows 3.1 with TCPIP in a VM.

I use MS Virtual PC 2005 (free for personal use) and can run DOS6.22
with Windows 3.1 running Net3 for TCPIP.

There's is no VPC 2005, but 2004, 2007, or Virtual Server 2005.

I was reading the dosbox doco recently and it says it emulates IPX etc and you
can play those games over the internet. So TCP/IP must be available.

It looks like it's limited: from the readme.txt

"DOSBox can emulate a serial nullmodem cable over network and internet.
It can be configured through the [serialports] section in the DOSBox
configuration file."

Sorry to get your hopes up.

Why do you think so? IPX is another routing protocol (by Novell) and
will work w/o TCP/IP, of course.
